The best transportation
No matter how you come to Venlo, prepare well. Are you taking public transport? Then your party starts right there! The train and buses will be brightly colored with all the 'pekskes'. Plan your ideal (and current) trip from A to Z with 9292. Do you want to make the trip to the BoƩtezitting a bit more special? Then you really need to take the ZoƩpkoelexpress! Buy your ticket here quickly, because it goes fast (just like the train)!
Are you coming by car? Make sure you arrive on time to park your car. For our eastern neighbors who don't celebrate carnival, it's a Saturday like any other. 2. Join in, dance and sing along
During the penalty session, the crĆØme de la crĆØme of dialect artists take the stage. Standing still is impossible and hosse or sjoenkele is quickly learned. 3. All beautifully dressed up
In Venlo, the pekskes are delightfully extravagant and often entirely homemade! Some start preparing months in advance, while others begin during the week of the carnival and are still fiddling late into Friday night. Yet everyone looks stunning on Saturday with beautiful hats adorned with feathers, dresses with colorful flowers, and richly decorated coats. It can't be too crazy!

4. Quenching the thirst
Before you can quench your thirst during the BoƩtezitting, you need Venlonaerkes, the city coins of Venlo. You buy these at the token counter and can spend them everywhere. The Venlonaerkes are even valid until the Venloop!

5. Good food
With a whole day of boƩte joetse, jatse ahead, it is important to lay a good baojem (foundation). Before, during, and after the BoƩtezitting, you can find the best Vastelaovesbik in the city center of Venlo! Do you want to start the carnival with a hearty breakfast? You can! At Milk and Cookies and Divino, you can enjoy a substantial breakfast throughout the carnival. Both reservations and walk-ins, and even to-go options are available. Need a quick pitstop? You can do so at Tante Toer, Het Romerhuis, and Grand CafƩ Prins Bernhard. Are you craving a pizza or a delicious burger? Then you really should go to Nena Pizza, Happy Italy, or Burgers & Beers.

6. The best place
The BoƩtezitting turns the Venlo city center upside down! There are no less than 8 stages. We are happy to help you make the right choice with this carnival decision tree! It's simple, start at the top, make your choices, and span herres (look there), the choice is made!
7. Toilets
Not entirely unimportant; where are the toilets? You can go to most cafƩs, and there are also toilet wagons. And here it applies, don't wait until the need is at its highest, because there are often long queues. For men, there are public urinals at Picardie Huzarenplaats, near the Jongerenkerk, at the Museum van Bommel van Dam, at the Kwartelenmarkt, behind the town hall, and in the Maaspoort.
8. Pinke
The one and only BBZ Pinke, who doesn't want it?! It's great for collecting and as a memento of this unforgettable day. Now available for just ā¬3 in the city center at Just For Fun Productions and at Toeristen Informatie Venlo at Koops. Can't get the pinke before the BoĆ©tezitting? Then you can buy it during the party for one Venlonaerke.
9. The ZoƩpkoel
Perhaps you're coming to Venlo because you've seen the ZoĆ©pkoel on TV? You can only access the Alde MĆØrt with a wristband, which are distributed via L1 Radio.
Didn't manage to get a wristband? Don't worry, because there are plenty of other stages. Take the test at tip 6 and find out which stage is the best choice for you!
10. Afterparty
The official program of the BoƩtezitting ends at 5:00 PM. Not done partying yet? Then feel free to hit the pubs! We can guarantee that every pub has a great atmosphere.
