The Jammerdal is a varied terrain with a rich history where many Venlo carnival songs owe their origins! Ecologically, it is an important and rich area due to its location, both from east to west and from north to south. Consider the connection from the Groote Heide towards the Maas and southwards towards the Meinweg. The entire area has been influenced by clay and sand extraction, resulting in many surprises in the relief with large elevation differences, water features, and vistas. Flora and fauna are diversely represented due to the variety of the landscape: from high to low with grooves and hills.
