Your day out in Venlo won't be spoiled by the weather! From adventurous indoor…
Which attractions in Venlo do children really like? The Kidspanel has the task of mapping out how enjoyable a day out, weekend getaway, or holiday in Venlo is for the whole family. The panel members were tasked with testing and evaluating various day attractions. Venlo Kidsproof? Absolutely!

As the first Climbing Forest in the Netherlands, Fun Forest Venlo is, of course, very special! But that's not the only reason this forest is so unique. Swinging through the trees, you continually encounter new challenges... July 25th was the day. Our own Venlo Kids Panel got to test and evaluate the Climbing Forest themselves. Safety instructions & ready! Swinging through the trees, the kids faced all sorts of different, cool challenges. Was the Fun Forest Climbing Forest approved by our jury? Absolutely! According to the children, it was really super cool: "Can I hold all the signs too? I thought it was cool, chill, awesome, and all the smileys!" "I thought I would find it scary, but it was just cool!" "It was really super awesome!" It was an awesome first location to awaken your inner monkey, conquer your fears, and embark on an adventure. Highly recommended!

On to Speelpark Klein Zwitserland! A playground where people have been playing for over 80 years, wow! So even the grandparents of our jury have played here! Together we took a walk through the park, ventured into the coolest and most exciting adventure forest in Limburg, slid down the highest & steepest slides, and climbed like real monkeys on the climbing wall. At the end of the afternoon, we were also challenged during mini-golf at Adventure Golf Gold Rush. Kidsproof? The jury unanimously agreed; YES! "This Adventure Forest is really super cool, you discover new things everywhere!" "That slide was so steep, but so awesome!" "Wow, I can even handle the 'very difficult' level on the climbing wall!" A super cool location in the woods to scramble, crawl through underground tunnels, and cool off in the pool!

Suitcases and passports ready? Then we can go! We departed from the Wereldpaviljoen in Steyl by plane to a small village in Nicaragua, Central America. Once we all cleared customs, it was time to explore the country! We visited the mayor, a cocoa farm, made toys from waste materials in the workshop, and even visited a school where we took Spanish lessons. Hola! After that, we flew on to Ghana. Here, we were transported by van to a small village, explored the neighborhood using virtual reality glasses, and made our own bracelets. Was the Wereldpaviljoen Steyl approved by the kids? Without a doubt. "I can speak Spanish now!" "Woohoo, can we get back on the plane?" "So cool to see how people live in Ghana!" A fun, educational location where you travel for a while, learn about life in Ghana and Central America, and visit various important places in these countries.

Time for the next location.... City Secrets! City Secrets is a new interactive game that you can play as a visitor to the city center of Venlo. A city is full of stories. Stories from the present, but also stories from the past. And we went to discover them! Together with Professor Flüsterstein, we took a stroll through the city, discovered the history, and gathered energy with which we could complete tasks. Super educational and really cool to discover what hidden gems exist in Venlo. Approved by our Kids Panel? Yes, yes, yes, and yes again! "Wow, does Venlo have so many secrets?" "I have never walked here before, Venlo is quite big!" "Yes, we have new energy again! I'm excited for a new task!" A super cool treasure hunt where you discover the history of Venlo, come across hidden gems, and also have a sporty walk!

We still had one more location to visit for the winter edition of the Kidspanel! In February, we visited the Ketelhuis in Steyl with the Kidspanel; a unique piece of industrial history. Among the monasteries, we discovered how the brothers used to operate the steam machines, but also worked as firefighters, shoemakers, bakers, dentists, and much more.
We first attended a presentation about the history of the Ketelhuis and then got a tour. After the tour, it was time to get to work ourselves! With a booklet full of tasks, it was up to the kids to crack the hidden word. And successfully! All the kids succeeded and received a certificate!
Is the Ketelhuis in Steyl kid-friendly? 𝗬𝗲𝘀, 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆! 'Wow, those machines are so cool to see! I think it would be quite fun to live here in the past, you have everything here! Can we come back again when the old fire truck is running?’’
