Working and living in Venlo
"I grew up in Venlo and for the past few years, I've been living with my girlfriend in Blerick. In high school, I was primarily focused on playing soccer. After obtaining my diploma, I searched for a suitable follow-up for a long time. A friend of mine worked in logistics and on his recommendation, I decided to pursue a short logistics course. In 2019, I interned at Caroz and ended up staying there."
"Caroz is an independent 4PL: we don't have our own equipment but are a logistics service provider that takes over and optimizes the supply chain of customers. We use partner companies to provide transport and logistics and monitor all movements. We identify improvement points in the supply chain and optimize them. The big advantage for our customers is that they have one fixed point of contact for all their logistics activities."
Working from Venlo, Rotterdam, Hilversum, China, and Thailand
"When I started at Caroz, we were in a relatively small building at the Noorderpoort industrial estate in Venlo. We now operate from a headquarters at Greenport Venlo: THE Control Tower. My colleagues monitor and analyze all our customers' transports here. We do this here in Venlo but also in Rotterdam close to the port. In Hilversum, we have an office that focuses on our own transport management system (TMS), which we also offer as a product. Since there are relatively many transport movements from Asia, we also have 5 offices in China and recently 1 office in Thailand."
"I started at Caroz in an operational role as an account advisor. Now, 7 years later, I work as a project engineer: a very diverse role. I implement new customers and guide improvement projects that result from our data analyses. Each project requires different knowledge and expertise from the organization. It is my task to bring those colleagues together and ensure that we achieve a successful outcome together."

Much more than just trucks and planners
I work with colleagues from the entire organization and I learn something new every day. This creates a strong sense of connection and is often very enjoyable. Speaking of enjoyment, there's no shortage of it at Caroz: we are particularly well taken care of. Every workday, a healthy lunch is prepared for us, and on Friday afternoons, we have drinks. We celebrate family days and go on weekend trips together. Last summer, we celebrated Caroz's 25th anniversary together in Ibiza. Most colleagues stay with us for a long time: I think that says enough.
Many people associate the word ‘logistics’ with trucks and planners, but logistics is much more than that. Yes, you can become a driver or planner, but also a software developer, data analyst, account manager, or project manager. I work with amazing colleagues in a great city. My friends, family, and the football club I currently play for are always nearby. For now, I'm exactly where I want to be!"
