Venlo has been a city of traders since the Middle Ages. The people of Venlo think big and decisively, always with an eye on the future. How can we be even smarter, better, and more sustainable? 'Mother Maas' connects us with the port of Rotterdam, the largest port and industrial complex in Europe. Surrounded by highways, equipped with a large marshalling yard, and close to various airports, Venlo is one of the most important logistics hubs in Europe. We have been named the Logistics Hotspot of the Netherlands multiple times for a reason!

Whether freight is transported by road, rail, water, or air from the producer to the end user, there is a good chance it makes a stop in Venlo. Our city is located on the A67, which quickly takes you towards Antwerp or Düsseldorf. Heading north or south? Then you can reach Nijmegen or Maastricht via the A73. Transport by water is possible via the Maas, and the airports of Liège, Luxembourg, Maastricht, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam are all relatively nearby. The various warehouses in and around Venlo make it attractive for companies and logistics service providers to store goods and transport them from Venlo to other locations. And did you know that Venlo has 4 rail terminals, including the largest inland rail terminal in the Netherlands? Venlo is also an important hub for rail transport.

Due to its strategic location, numerous logistics companies are based in Venlo. While one is specialized in a specific form of transport, another is an expert in planning, warehousing, or special cargo.

Alone you go faster, but together you go further. This is why the Supply Chain Valley (SCV) partnership brings together companies, knowledge institutions, the government, and the community. This cross-border initiative strengthens the region as a hub for the supply chain and logistics in Northern Europe. SCV connects the logistics, agrofood, and manufacturing sectors in the region. All of this is based on the belief that certain themes can be better addressed together than alone. Consider, for example: sustainability, energy transition, digitization, infrastructure, accessibility, and mobility. Want to know more about this innovative partnership?
