Jules Fransman
Jules Fransman has Carnival in his blood. He was introduced to it at an early age and has fond memories of the former Kloonstrekke and participating in the Optoch in Blerick with his family.

Since his high school days, he has also been celebrating Carnival in the Venlo city center, but due to his performances, he can actually be found all over Greater Venlo. Jules is certainly not a stranger in the Venlo music scene. He started with PATS!, where he played bass guitar with great pleasure for many years. Nowadays, he is active as an energetic singer and guitarist with Appelemoos and has formed a successful duo with Gijs Engels. For years, they performed as a duo and participated in Opus Jocus, the annual song evening in the Maaspoort, until last year when they wanted to try something different. This year, the duo was expanded with Bart Janssen and Willy Billekens, after being approached by lyricist Hay Geritz. Singing in harmony became possible, something that gives a song extra dynamics and finesse, according to Jules. And it caught on: in 2020, they finished in first place!
For Jules, Carnival means a lot, and music is an essential part of this beautiful time. He considers it an honor to contribute to the feeling of tradition, conviviality, and nostalgia through his performances. Music is lasting and brings people together. The warm-hearted Jules cannot imagine Carnival without performances. On stage, he is in his element and does what he loves. He hopes to convey this to the audience as well. His mission is accomplished when he sees people enjoying themselves because music connects! What is a beautiful memory of Carnival? It is indeed that he has come so far with the duo Gijs and Jules. He has stood on stage with various dignitaries from Venlo, and singing at the Vrijthof is also familiar to him. Yet, he truly feels at home in Venlo. The parade in Blerick, the performances in Greater Venlo, and the Boérebroélof on Tuesday are truly part of his Carnival. And even though Carnival is different this year, we will not forget it. We can still dream about it!
