Sjoerd is a true atmosphere creator: someone who believes that a party has the…
“In the past, there were those friendship books that you filled out for your classmates. To the question 'what is your hobby,' it always said: playing games. That has never changed. When I'm with friends or family, there's always a game on the table. And once I get started, I want to win!

Since 2017, I have been the co-owner of Framboos Events with my business partner. We started by organizing quizzes and games for friends and family. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to do it professionally. Together, we now organize quizzes for corporate outings, family parties, and friends' or girls' weekends. For companies, we also create custom quizzes: the quiz questions are specifically about their industry or organization. Soon, we will be expanding with something completely different: our first escape room in the center of Blerick.
I am someone who gets along with everyone. In company, I often take on the role of connector and ensure that the atmosphere remains good. This comes easily to me, but I become competitive as soon as a bit of competition comes into play. Then, I am no longer the friendly connector but a leader who aims for victory. Alone, or in a team.
In daily life, I lead a team that optimizes HR processes. I like to organize things well and efficiently, and I can utilize those skills in my job. I can express my creativity at Framboos Events.

I grew up in de Boekend and since I was 5 years old, I have been a member of Youth Club Don Bosco. The club is somewhat like Jong Nederland, but specifically for children from de Boekend. At 15, I became a leader at the club and since 2025, I have been a board member. I find it fantastic to see how the children develop within the club. Some, like me, have been members since they were 5, and as a leader, you see the 'young ones' slowly grow up. I especially enjoy working with the teenage group: the group with members aged 12 to 15. I try to let them make their own choices as much as possible and thereby teach them responsibility. All in a light-hearted, relaxed manner. It gives me great satisfaction to contribute in such a valuable way to their search for identity.
In January 2025, I became prince of the Carnival Association De Worteleschrabbers, with my brother and partner as attendants. I'm at my best when everyone around me is enjoying themselves, and in the role of prince, I thoroughly enjoyed that. Carnival is one big haze of joy and celebration, and as a prince, you are the connecting factor. Heartwarming to experience!
"If you live in one of the smaller districts of Venlo, then you know that you need to go to the center of Venlo if you want to shop, go out, or celebrate 'the big carnival.' I don't find that a problem at all. I see Venlo as one big city, and the Boekend is my own familiar neighborhood where everyone knows each other. It may be small, but I wouldn't want to miss it for the world. Everyone is committed to connecting with each other. Through various sports clubs, the carnival, and the youth club. That makes it close-knit and familiar. I currently live in Blerick, but if the opportunity arises, I would happily move back to the Boekend."
