That's what the four friendly brewers from Arcen must have thought when they founded Stoombierbrouwerij de Vriendenkring N.V. in 1915. Fortunately for the region, because the brewery still exists and in the rolling Maas valley, formidable beers are still being brewed. And the people of Venlo are not averse to that, that's clear.
