Kasteeltuinen Arcen opent haar poorten voor een nieuw tuinseizoen op zaterdag 28 maart 2026. Vanaf deze datum bewonder je de eerste paar weken de schoonheid van de lente. De tuinen staan vol met kleurrijke voorjaarsbloeiers, dus verwacht tienduizenden viooltjes, ontelbare tulpen en het frisse groen dat overal tevoorschijn komt!

From June 1 to October 25 (end of autumn break), Visit Noord-Limburg, in collaboration with Basisschool de Weiert and Museum van Bommel van Dam, is organizing the window exhibition Fantastic Meuse Creatures.38 windows in Arcen are transformed into a colorful open-air museum. In these windows, you will find 'Meuse Creatures'.Meuse Creatures are fantasy animals, crafted by students of the Weiert (primary school of Arcen), which they imagine could live in the Meuse River.The 38 windows hiding the Meuse Creatures form a walking route, a kind of treasure hunt, that children and families can walk this summer and early autumn.Behind the windows of the Inaborgh, you will find Mermaid Fish Lizzy and Blobfish Jan, our Meuse Creatures. In the exhibition Seeing Sounds at the van Bommel van Dam museum, you will discover the work of four artists from different generations for whom music is more than a subject: it is a way to imagine freedom.Yet something remains unseen until you listen. Take a seat at one of the vinyl stations, browse, choose, listen, and experience how music changes your view on the artworks of Raafat Ballan, Sedje Hémon, Sam Middleton, and Dion Rosina. An invitation to look with both eyes and ears!

Robert Boyd Smith, working as a tattoo artist under the name the Blacksmith, presents work inspired by mythology, religion, and culture. This exhibition features mandalas, among other things, executed mainly in ink and pencil and characterized by a high degree of detail.

"Music is a language we all speak" Blues, rock, soul, and country as it once was, in a modern and recognizable style. Chris & Davina are a musical duo passionate about music from the 60s to contemporary music. They primarily create Blues, Rock, Soul, and Country music inspired by the past. A Roadhouse is a place where musicians and travelers come together, where music is founded and embraced from the various cultures that are brought together. From fierce rock to atmospheric blues. Sensitive soul, and creamy ballads. A language that is not limited to anyone. This band connects the true 'roots' of past music and turns it into something new. Through their recognizable melodies, profound lyrics, and stories, they connect the music of the past with today's audience.

De leden van Alien Ant Farm brachten in 1999 hun eerste plaat uit, die ze voor het gemak maar meteen Greatest Hits noemden. Het was echter 2002 - de hoogtijdagen van nu-metal - toen ze pas echt echt een hit scoorden met de ironische alt-metal cover van Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal en successen behaalden met nummers als ‘Movies’ en ‘Wish’.

For this special showcase edition, Legendary Mother Amber Vineyard brings together the most impressive talents from the Dutch Ballroom Scene for an unprecedented show full of Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent. Who will dominate the ring? Let the battles speak for themselves! House of Vineyard, founded in 2014 by Amber Vineyard, is the first ballroom house in the Netherlands. Ballroom culture originated in New York as a safe space primarily for the Black and Latinx queer and trans community. Many members come from marginalized groups and have found their own chosen family within it. With House of Confetti invites Cuntdown, House of Confetti bridges the gap between the ballroom scene and the audience of Zomerparkfeest. This collaboration celebrates the power of self-expression, community, and performance. Turn up the cunt! This event takes place during Zomerparkfeest on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 9:00 PM in TEATRO and is free of charge.

Celebrate with us the 75th anniversary of the dairy farm of Zuivel van Nu! During this open day, you will get a behind-the-scenes look at modern farm life. Walk around the yard, admire the tractors and other machines, see the cows and calves up close, and discover how we make our own dairy products from fresh milk at Zuivel van Nu. There are activities for children, tastings of our products, and plenty of opportunities to explore the farm. Everyone is warmly welcome!

On August 26, we welcome all new first-year students in Venlo! Students will explore Venlo to get to know the city. In groups, they will work on assignments and playfully explore the offerings of the library.

The International Women's Circle Venlo is a space for women who are seeking community, inspiration, and support while navigating life abroad. Expect engaging conversations, creative activities, and opportunities to exchange stories. Sessions are in English (with Spanish translation) and are free to attend.

During the festive finale of the Viva Classic Vocal Contest 2026, five promising young singers present themselves to the audience and professional jury at Domani, the former monastery chapel in the center of Venlo. The special atmosphere and excellent acoustics make this historic location a beloved place for classical music.The finalists are:Ruslana Danchenko (soprano, Detmold)Rita Rolo Morais (soprano, Cologne)Vladyslav Shkarupilo (countertenor, Essen)Dorine Doneux (mezzo-soprano, Waremme/Maastricht)Anastasia Patsakidou (coloratura soprano, Aachen)The candidates each perform two pieces, ranging from popular opera arias to classical song repertoire. The concert is performed with the New Symphonics Orchestra under the direction of Italian conductor Federico Santi.The professional jury consists of:Sef Thissen – baritone and founder of Viva Classic LiveBarbara Haveman – soprano and vocal coachMarwin Wendt – artistic director of Deutsche Oper am Rhein.The audience also has a voice and determines who receives the audience award. The winner of the competition receives the prestigious Willy Caron Award and performs during Viva Classic Live at the Park 2026.VCVC2026 is an initiative of the Viva Classic Live Foundation and is part of the cross-border program RESONANZ, in which young creators from the Netherlands and Germany – from hip-hop to opera – collaborate, develop, and reach new audiences.RESONANZ is made possible in part by the Interreg VI-A program Germany-Netherlands, co-financed by the European Union, the Province of Limburg, and the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.Read more about the finalists Ruslana Danchenko (soprano, Detmold)The Ukrainian soprano Ruslana Danchenko (2000) studies Opera and Concert Singing at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold. Additionally, she performed as a soloist in major choral and orchestral works, including Haydn's Die Schöpfung. Ruslana combines a strong technical foundation with great expressive power. For her, music is about connection and creating emotional worlds for her audience.Rita Rolo Morais (soprano, Cologne)The Portuguese soprano Rita Rolo Morais (2000) recently made an impression with leading roles in productions in Aachen and Cologne. After her master's degree in Opera at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, she is currently further specializing in song art in Hamburg. Besides opera, she is a passionate song singer and regularly performs at chamber music and festival concerts. Rita is supported by various prestigious music funds and has developed into a versatile young artist in recent years. Her warm stage personality and musical refinement characterize her performances.Vladyslav Shkarupilo (countertenor, Essen)Vladyslav Shkarupilo (2000) is a Ukrainian countertenor studying at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. Since coming to Germany, he has participated in opera productions and festivals, including the Ruhrtriennale and the Stuttgart State Opera. He took part in international competitions such as Neue Stimmen and the Farinelli Competition. With his unique voice type and broad repertoire, he effortlessly navigates between baroque, romantic, and contemporary music. For Vladyslav, singing is not only about technique but also about sharing stories, creating connections, and growing through artistic encounters.Dorine Doneux (mezzo-soprano, Waremme / Maastricht)The Belgian-Limburg mezzo-soprano Dorine Doneux (2003) belongs to a new generation of promising opera talents. She won the first prize at the Bell'Arte International Competition in 2024 and is part of training programs at De Munt in Brussels and the Teatro Comunale di Bologna. At a young age, she already portrayed roles such as Carmen, Ragonde, and Prince Orlofsky. Dorine combines a striking stage presence with natural musicality. After a previous participation in the competition, she returns with even more experience and ambition.Anastasia Patsakidou (coloratura soprano, Aachen)The Greek coloratura soprano Anastasia Patsakidou (1996) studies musical theater at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in Aachen. In January 2026, she debuted as the Queen of the Night in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at Theater Aachen. Previously, she sang leading roles in operas by Donizetti, Montsalvatge, and new Greek creations. Her repertoire requires great virtuosity, flexibility, and theatrical conviction. Anastasia feels a strong connection with North Rhine-Westphalia and is steadily building a professional opera career there.
