Steyl Hiking Route – 8 km through History and Nature

This route takes you through the picturesque landscape of Steyl and Tegelen and offers a beautiful mix of history, nature, and relaxation.

Your start is at the village square Veerweg in Steyl, directly opposite the Mission Museum, where you can dive into the fascinating history of the Dutch mission. Follow the red markings along poles, walls, and fences to the impressive abbey of Steyl - a perfect place to pause for a moment.

The route continues through the picturesque landscape to Tegelen, along the Maas riverbanks with expansive views. A special highlight is the Ceramics Center de Tiendschuur in Tegelen (Kasteellaan 8) with its beautiful ceramics collection. At the Nabben/Middeltweg intersection, briefly follow the signage "Retour Holtmuhle" before returning to the main route.
